As an influential organisation in this area, North East Enterprise Agency choosing to endorse the Business and Enterprise V Cert is an exciting accolade, showing how relevant the qualification is to the industry. Adam commented: “We recognise that there is a need for this qualification as we believe that it is vitally important that learning about business and enterprise be included in the national curriculum, as ensuring that our young people are educated in that area will help our economy thrive in the future.
“The Level 1/2 Technical Award in Business and Enterprise is a carefully crafted qualification which provides young people with an introduction to the subject area which is applied and relevant. Through studying this qualification they will gain a broad understanding and knowledge of working in the sector, including legal structures, marketing, market research, operations management, resource planning, human resources, funding, finance and planning.
“V Cert Technical Awards are a great alternative to GCSEs, to provide the knowledge and skills that learners require, with equivalent levels of challenge and rigour.”
Advice for business tycoons of the future
Sharing some advice to young people with hopes of succeeding in business and enterprise, Adam said: “Be brave and follow your dreams, but remember it is useful to seek support from the many experts who provide funded help to develop business ideas. Take advantage of the opportunity available through qualifications like the V Cert in Business and Enterprise.
“There are plenty of opportunities for young people to enter the industry, and we want to challenge the perception that business and enterprise is not for young people, as it is a great career path for those of all ages. It is important to increase promotion of the opportunities available and communicate the level of support that is available to aspiring entrepreneurs or business tycoons.”
