Go the distance

Go the distance with NCFE
Improving skills, confidence, and career opportunities
We believe there’s no better time to take focused action to support employment. Our go the distance campaign helps people to train and retain skilled work – then progress to lifetimes of continued professional fulfilment.
With go the distance, we:
- Work with colleagues such as the Learning and Work Institute, Recruitment and Employment Confederation, and MH+A to study the economic and labour market context. Then, we use our deep insight into what works to help providers design and deliver brilliant employment programmes
- Research the skills, knowledge, and behaviours that people need to find, stay and progress in work. We have a particular interest in meta-skills and in how we can enable people to transfer into different sectors. Read how meta-skills can support sustainable and adaptable careers in this thought piece from Richard Eyre, Chief Programmes Officer for education charity, The Brilliant Club
- Use our insights to develop substantial qualification and curriculum bundles linked to the main FE provision types (16-19, traineeships, apprenticeships and adult education). These bundles include qualification combinations, work schemes and session plans, substantial learning resources, e-learning content and more
- Use our regional expertise to offer operational support to training providers to help them design, mobilise and manage employability provisions to Ofsted outstanding levels.
