Developing educational practice

CACHE Education and training

Specialist recognition

Over 170 years at the forefront of technical and vocational learning inform our education and training qualifications. We don’t just rely on our expertise – we continuously innovate so that our qualifications incorporate new research and advance good practice.

CACHE qualifications assure employers that their workforce has an exceptional understanding of pedagogy, as well as the behaviours they’ll need to be a dynamic presence in a classroom. Our qualifications range from entry level to Level 5 and lead onto further study, where learners will continue to develop their educational practice.

We were also awarded the contract by the government to develop the technical qualification that underpins the new Education and Childcare T Level. This includes the occupational specialism for assisting teaching. This new qualification signifies a revolution in technical education and will become one of the main learning routes for those aged 16-18.

Opportunities in education and training

The education and training sector is crucial in helping others to learn and excel - whether that be directly through teaching, or in supporting roles such as quality assurance or safeguarding.

The number of educators in the UK continues to grow - since 2000, the number of full-time teaching assistants has more than trebled from 79,000 to 243,700. Teaching assistants make up over a quarter of the workforce in schools, including up to 35% of the primary workforce.

We offer several routes into the industry, with our suite of CACHE qualifications leading the way and supporting current government agendas.

Collaborating for success

We work with diverse practitioners to make sure all developments respond to emerging needs in the classroom. One such impactful collaboration is our work with Brent Start and Brent Works. Brent Start piloted our CPD programmes that explore mental health in children and adverse childhood experiences, to the benefit of their learners.
